After time the standard rear view mirror can start to deteriorate around the edges. This doesn’t really hinder its use but does start to let the look of the interior down.
I started to do some research on a standard replacement but came across a mirror offered by Zoom Engineering who are engineers based in Japan. You can view their website here: http://www.zoom-eng.com/
The company offers quite an extensive range of different mirror styles and colour finishes including carbon fiber. The mirrors require a bracket, also provided by the company, so make sure this is available for your vehicle before purchasing!
When I received the mirror it came assembled and the quality is superb. The mirror is lightweight and has a nice quality feel and finish. The mirror has a blue tint and wide angle view. It comes with generic fitment instructions, 2 allen keys and 2 bolts for the final installation.
Fitting to the MR2 is really straight forward. Remove the interior light dome cover, then the internal frame that is held in place with 3 screws. This then gives you access to the standard mirror bracket which is held in place with 2 screws. Simply remove, offer up the new bracket and install using the 2 screws supplied. I would recommend fitting the mirror to the bracket before fitting as I imagine it would be rather difficult fitting the mirror afterwards.
