I have managed to obtain a Phoenix Power rear mounted oil cooler for my build! Extremely rare and it will be a nice addition.

The oil cooler mounts under the rear boot, sitting just in front of the Departure II Pro Exhaust System. It really adds to the already insane looking rear end!

It is mounted using brackets manufactured by Phoenix Power. I had these shot-blast and powder coated in satin black as they were slightly corroded.

The oil cooler itself was originally supplied by Setrab who are based in Sweden. It is 16 row and 300mm wide. The drilled end plates provide additional cooling and are now regarded as a retro design. This design is now a special order and only available in a 19 row design.

I purchased brand new Earl’s fittings and Perform-O-Flex hose for piece of mind. These were used in the original kit supplied by Phoenix Power back in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Unfortunately their Perform-O-Flex hose no longer has the gold tracer strand that can be seen in the original catalogue photos.

The fittings are AN10 throughout.

I will be using a GREX Thermostatic Sandwich Plate to install the oil cooler on the car. This will also enable me to install the sensors for the oil pressure and oil temperature gauges.

Once it is all mounted on the car I will take some more photos and update!
